The Palácio do Raio or House of the Mexican is an 18C residence designed by Portuguese architect André Soares. It has a Rocaille Baroque façade that was tiled with blue azulejos in the 19C. The window frames are in carved granite. Inside, a small museum dedicated to the works of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia (18C sacred art) offers a pretext to go in and admire the elegant interior.
