The Michelin Guide's review
Stretching from Dunkirk to Berck is the Côte d'Opale - named the "Opal Coast" after the iridescent hues of the opal stone - outlined by sheer cliffs, dry valleys and a series of dunes. The stretch between Cap Gris-Nez and Cap Blanc-Nez is the most spectacular part of the coastline. The Côte d'Opale boasts choice landscapes and is also home to charming resort towns, such as Le Touquet, Hardelot and Wimereaux, where you can try out a host of nautical activities.
