Formerly located on Boylston Street, the ICA has relocated to Boston's waterfront The new, 65,000sq ft site features a facade of translucent and transparent glass, wood and metal, and a dramatic folding ribbon shape. A cantilever will extend to the water's edge, creating a sheltered but open space for visitors to enjoy views of Boston Harbor. The museum's expanding permanent collection focuses on works by artists created at pivotal moments in their careers; there's an active program of temporary exhibitions.
