The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1723, Old North Church earned its place in history during the Revolution. Here, on April 18, 1775, the sexton displayed two lanterns in the steeple to signal the departure of the British from Boston to Lexington by boat, thus prompting Paul Revere's midnight ride. Inside, the box pews, large bay windows and pulpit from which President Gerald Ford inaugurated the country's bicentenary are typical of New England colonial churches.
