The Michelin Guide's review
This Renaissance palace (1614-1717) has a graceful façade featuring an 18C gable. The small octagonal belfry boasts a carillon. In the council chamber (Raadzaal), admire the door sculpted by J. Gysberts, who was also responsible for the decoration on the wood fireplace. The first floor is home to an antiques museum (Oudheidkamer) featuring a collection of Friesian ceramics, traditional costumes and archaeological finds.
