The Michelin Guide's review
This complex of religious buildings (originally seven) overlooks a beautiful square lined with Renaissance palazzi. It includes the Chiesa del Crocifisso, an old Lombard cathedral; the octagonal Chiesa del Santo Sepolcro, with its black Cipollino marble columns taken from an ancient Roman temple; and the Chiesa dei Santi Vitale e Agricola, noteworthy for its plain, robust structure. Access to the Chiesa della Trinità, a former martyrium, is through the charming Pilate's courtyard. A Romanesque cloister leads to a small museum of sacred art.
