The Michelin Guide's review
The façade is a mix of medieval and Gothic architecture from the 13C-15C. In the centre is a large doorway topped by a statue of Pope Gregory XIII, while to the left is a charming statue of Virgin and Child by Niccolo dell'Arca. At the back of the courtyard, a ramp (initially designed for horses) leads to the first floor. Here, the huge Sala Farnese leads to the richly decorated rooms which house the municipal art collection, with its many paintings from the Emilian school.
