The Michelin Guide's review
A beautiful colonial house adorned with a flower-filled interior courtyard that once housed the mint, founded in 1621. This is where South America's first gold coins were struck. The institution was expanded in the 17C to cope with the sharp increase in demand. The numismatic collections trace the history of money in Gran Colombia and of the techniques employed to produce the coins and notes.
