The Michelin Guide's review
Atop a rocky outcrop, Bled Castle overlooks the Lake Bled. In 1004, a fortified Romanesque tower crowned the site. At the end of the Middle Ages, towers and fortifications were added. During the Baroque period, changes were made to the castle, making it more compact. Do not miss the chapel, rebuilt in the Baroque style around 1700, whose interior is decorated with frescoes. The castle houses a museum, restaurant and wine cellar.
