The Michelin Guide's review
Shuttle Row (18C), comprised of a former factory and adjoining workers' accommodation, is home to a museum devoted to the life and work of Livingstone. The physician, missionary and explorer was born in one of these one-roomed homes, which were considered to be model accommodation for the era; his birthplace has been faithfully reconstituted. You can also view documents, manuscripts and some forty letters signed by the great man. The garden is dotted with sculptures.
