The Michelin Guide's review
Count Fernán Pérez de Andrade, lord of Betanzos and Puentedeume, had this Franciscan convent built near Santa María in 1397, of which only this church remains. It is in the shape of a Latin cross and has a long gothic chevet, but is most remarkable for its many tombs lined along the walls and the sculpted decoration of the diagonal ribs and arches in the choir. Under the gallery to the left of the entrance stands the monumental sepulcre of the founder.
