The Michelin Guide's review
The museum exhibits part of the extraordinary holdings of the Deutsche Kinemathek created in 1963 by film director Gerhard Lamprecht. The archives contain no fewer than 26 000 German and foreign films and nearly a million documents, photos, posters and programmes. The museum focuses primarily on German cinema, with photos from Fritz Lang's 1927 Metropolis, models of Robert Wiene's 1919 The Cabinet of Dr Caligari and Marlene Dietrich's wardrobe.
