The Michelin Guide's review
Cosmopolitan and trendy, Kreuzberg was the centre of Berlin West's counter-culture in the 1980s with its many alternative venues, some of which are still active, making it one of Berlin's liveliest neighbourhoods day and night. The Turkish community set up home here in the 1960s, earning it the nickname of "Little Istanbul". More bourgeois in feel around Victoria Park, the district is perfect for a stroll, enabling visitors to admire the beautifully restored Wilhelmian buildings.
