The Michelin Guide's review
This fine and rare example of Norwegian Romanesque architecture is one of Bergen's oldest buildings to have survived the many fires that have devastated the city throughout its history. Boasting two tall square towers, the church exterior is an imposing sight, while its harmonious proportions and quality furnishings give its interior a singular charm. Note the triptych behind the altar, probably made in Lübeck in the late 15C, the Baroque pulpit (17C) and remains of frescoes dating from the 15C.
