The Michelin Guide's review
A few walls linking the rocks and you have an impregnable fortress. The Romans were the first to build fortifications on this site, which were later remodelled many times then restored in 1958. Two successive doors give access to a vast oblong courtyard at the back of which a very steep staircase leads to what could be called the keep. This is the very centre of an amazing red-rock cirque. Steps hewn out of the rock lead to the top of one of these rocky peaks: the view from there is breathtaking.
