The Michelin Guide's review
The Fairhaven Historic District dates from the 1870s, but flourished twenty years later when there was a possibility of the western terminus of the Great Northern Railroad being established here. In the end, Tacoma was chosen for it, however this district has preserved a pleasant mix of cafés, galleries, bookshops and boutiques with red-brick façades, as well as charming and attractively renovated Victorian houses.
