The Michelin Guide's review
The residence of Prince Gong, built in the last quarter of the 18C across an area of 3ha, is worth a visit if only to admire the splendour of its gardens. Underground passageways, a forest of rocks, small lakes and water features have all been created here in accordance with the basic concepts of Feng Shui. Some of the palace's rooms, which are used to host intimate performances of music and dance, are only open to groups. If you can't get inside, why not enjoy some tea in the Futing pavilion.
