Beckov Castle

 Michelin Guide
 Well worth the diversions
Civil and military monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
Beckov Castle, which can be seen from afar, has a turbulent past. This fortress has stood on a 50m-high limestone rock since the 13C, guarding the border between Bohemia and the Kingdom of Hungary. In the 16C, several Turkish attacks were repelled there. After the fire of 1729 the castle fell into ruin. Its imposing vestiges are particularly photogenic.
