The Michelin Guide's review
The Louisiana Capitol building, a 34-storey, Art Deco-style skyscraper built in 1932, is the tallest capitol building in the United States (449ft). The main level features a stunning, marble-clad Memorial Hall, and large bronze doors leading to the House and Senate chambers. Views from the 27th-floor observation gallery encompass the river and the Pentagon barracks, established in 1819 to house a US army garrison. The Old Arsenal (1838) to the east is home to a museum presenting the military history of the capitol complex site.
