The Michelin Guide's review
Built on stilts in the middle of a park planted with magnolia trees, this elegant wooden house (1791) is considered to be one of the best examples of Creole-style architecture in the region. The modest interior has a rustic and authentic feel, with a sitting room reconstructed with locally made mahogany furniture. An exhibition in one of the slaves' houses provides information on the history of slavery in Louisiana.
