The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The MNAC is housed in the grandiose Monjuïc national palace. A visit here encompasses Romanesque art, including some outstanding murals; Gothic art and the importance of paintings on panels; Renaissance and Baroque art, essentially 16C-18C Catalan, Spanish and European painting; modern art, including the hotbed of artistic creativity in Barcelona between the 19C and the 1950s; and last but not least the Numismatic Cabinet. These extraordinary collections are an absolute must for visitors to the city.
