The Michelin Guide's review
The Saint-Etienne gothic church (late-14C) houses two of its treasures by sculptor Ligier Richier (16C): in the right-hand transept, the legendary Transi, an unsettling skeleton expressing its fervent hope in the resurrection; and behind the altar, the Calvaire (the Calvary) representing Christ and two robbers. Also not to be missed is the 14C statue of Notre-Dame-du-Guet, revered by the locals, she reportedly warned the inhabitants of a coming invasion in 1440. Facing it is a curious painting depicting the Crucifixion.
