Bar-le-Duc Upper Town
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The upper town of Bar-le-Duc is an extraordinary trove of architecture spanning the 16C, 17C, and 18C. This aristocratic district was born out of the will of the Dukes of Bar to see nobles settle around the ducal chateau. Handsome town mansions, boasting elegant white-stone facades, behind which occasionally lie what have become stately homes, complete with courtyards and outbuildings.
