Bantry House
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Thirty years after it was built in 1720, the estate was bought by the White family. The lovely collections of furniture and artefacts (Russian reliquary with 15-16C icons, Aubusson tapestries and staircase lined in Spanish leather) and the beautiful Italianate hanging gardens were however the work of the second Viscount of Bantry. The stables now contain an exhibition devoted to the "French Armada Expedition".
