The Michelin Guide's review
These gardens combine a wide variety of forms, colours and scents. Yew hedges dating from 1702 separate the predominantly red and yellow Pool Garden from the two formal French gardens, the Fountain (shades of blue) and the Rose Garden. In the lower area, a double border of plants separates the Camel and Trough Gardens with, beyond, White and June Borders and a Golden Garden, a memorial to Lady Burnett. Countless woodland paths through the grounds.
