The Michelin Guide's review
The former Cistercian monastery church is one of the most beautiful examples of northern Germany's "brick Gothic" style. Following the Flemish model, a chapel extends beyond the chancel with its ambulatory. The richly-decorated interior reflects the church's significance as a burial place for the Dukes of Meklenburg. Of particular interest are the high altar, the altar of the cross, the triumphal cross and the tabernacle.
