  The Michelin Guide's review
Offering real mountain scenery - virtually the only such scenery in Britain -, the Cairngorms are part of the range separating the centre and north of Scotland. In 2004 a national park was created, running from Braemar to the Spey Valley; it is a wild and spectacular landscape in which to practise all manner of outdoor activities, such as walking, cycling, winter sports, golf, fishing. From the 1 245m peak of Cairn Gorm (accessible by funicular), there is one of the finest views in the region.
