Gargas-Nestploria Caves
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
These prehistoric caves house over 200 enigmatic prints of hands that look like they are missing fingers or have their thumbs bent down. It is thought these "stencil" paintings (negative hands), could be linked to magic or initiation rituals. Note also the drawings of animals, as well as the fine paintings and concretions. Nesploria, a digital centre dedicated to prehistory, rounds off the visit with touchscreens and an entertaining presentation.
