The permanent collection of more than 18,000 works ranges from ancient to contemporary art, covering a variety of themes and periods. The museum's highlight is the Mari and James Michener Collection of 20C American art, featuring hundreds of masterpieces, from Cubist to Abstract Expressionist. It is also proud of its Baroque, Renaissance and contemporary art: paintings, photos, video installations.
