St Geraud Church
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This former abbey church was founded in the late 9C and rebuilt in the 17C. Inside, the pillars, which reach up in a single thrust to the vaults with lierne and tierceron ribs, lend the nave balance and unity. At the far end, an 18C Pietà is tucked away in a recess. In the Chapelle St Géraud, there are two Romanesque carved flagstones, one of which is decorated with animals, capitals with palmettes and interlacing, and a gilded wooden statue of the saint (18C).
