Aurillac's Museum of Art and Archaeology
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This convent was transformed into a national stud farm after the Revolution, and then a museum. The museum charts the life and living conditions in Cantal and the region's archaeology (remarkable Palaeolithic double-sided flints). The second floor is dedicated to 17C-19C painting (Nattier, Vernet, Couture), sculpture (Rodin by Camille Claudel and Victor Hugo by Rodin) and modern and contemporary photography. The former stables are used for temporary contemporary art and photography exhibitions.
