Auchindrain Township Open Air Museum
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Auchindrain Township is an open-air museum that shines the spotlight on life on the communal-tenancy farms. Groups of tenants used to hold and work the land together: it was a system of farming that once dominated rural Scottish life, and these farms survived until very late on in the Highlands. Then cross the settlement, where houses, barns and byres have been restored and converted into museum pieces. Children will enjoy seeing the animals on this working farm.
