Developed for the 1895 Cotton States Exposition, Piedmont Park's 185 acres encompass the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The park has many facilities and is a popular outdoor destination for urban dwellers who come to run, bicycle, play tennis, fish in the lake, or in the hot summers, swim in the outdoor pool. It is also the venue of countless festivals and concerts.
