The Michelin Guide's review
Crowned by the Filopappou monument (114-116 AD), after whom the hill is named, the summit offers a splendid view of the Acropolis, the city and the Saronic Gulf, particularly at sunset. The façade of the 10m-high stele preceded a funerary chamber housing the sarcophagus of Philopappos, Roman consul and benefactor of Athens (seen in bas-relief on a chariot).
