The Michelin Guide's review
The Renaissance manor house was built in the 15C by Governor-General Herman Fleming. Carl Eric Mannerheim, later a senator of the autonomous Grand-Duchy of Finland, bought it in 1795. It was here that Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, future Marshal of Finland, was born in 1867. Its second floor rooms retain Renaissance painted ceilings. In the banquet hall the estate and Admiral H. Fleming's naval battles are depicted. There is a wooden bathing pavilion (1830) and charming theatre in the English-style park.
