The Michelin Guide's review
Lappstaden is the Sami district of Arvidsjaur, the oldest and best-preserved of the 17C "parish villages", where the Sami gathered for religious festivals and home to the houses and stables of Swedish farmers and tradesmen and the huts and sheds of Sami nomads. Only the Sami district remains from this "parish village", including the 80 huts that are still used during the annual Sami parliamentary session at the end of August.
