The Michelin Guide's review
About 20 Phoenix caissons and, washed up on the beach, concrete floats and part of a platform are what remains of the man-made harbour of Arromanches, a technical feat thanks to which, after 6 June 1944, up to 9 000 tons of equipment were unloaded per day. To get the best view of this "Mulberry B" built for British troops, stand at the lookout on the D 514 towards Asnelles at low tide.
