The Michelin Guide's review
The archaeological site of Nemea is worth visiting, on account of the beauty of its setting, which is maintained as a public garden. As of the mid-4C BC, every two years this sanctuary hosted the Nemean Games, one of the four great pan-Hellenic festivals. Tradition attributes the founding of these games, which celebrated the glory of Nemean Zeus, to Heracles. Today, the vestiges of the sports grounds are not particularly evocative, but the museum houses pieces discovered on site and gives interesting information on the stadium's games in Antiquity.
