The Michelin Guide's review
Built in the 18C, the royal palace of Aranjuez is U-shaped (a main building with two wings) and opens onto a ceremonial courtyard. Inside, a stately staircase leads to a number of sumptuous rooms fitted out in the late 19C, among which the throne room, whose walls are hung with red velvet, and the porcelain room, the most graceful and interesting part of the palace. At the end of the visit, the Museo de la vida en Palacio is devoted to the different monarchs.
