The Michelin Guide's review
Thanks to the cutting of the Suez Canal, the Red Sea links the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean. At its northern end, the gulf of Aqaba is Jordan's only access point to the sea. The water temperature ranges between 20 and 30°C depending on the season, and the richness of its fauna and flora makes it a popular dive destination. Head for Aqaba in the south of the country, get kitted out with mask, snorkel or air tanks and discover the marvels awaiting beneath the waves.
