The Michelin Guide's review
Behind the marketplace and the Law Courts (1726) is a magnificent Tudor-style doorway, giving onto the park of the former family residence of the Clotworthy family, which burned down accidentally in 1922. Monuments in memory of the family, their dogs and horses were erected in the park with classical-style gardens and long ornamental ponds surrounded by high hedges, designed in the late 17C.
