The Michelin Guide's review
A botanist Gustave Thuret created this garden in 1857 in an attempt to acclimatise the Eucalyptus trees imported from Australia. The experiment was a success, despite the sniggers of the old Antibes folk . There are 3 000 species prospering here, including palm trees, mimosas, eucalyptus and cypress trees. The Garden is today run by the National agronomical research centre (INRA).
