Beyond Port Glaud, the road continues northwards, offering Instagram-worthy panoramas of the sea, to Baie Ternay, one of the archipelago's four national marine reserves - a great chance to don your mask and snorkel and explore the colourful seabed. When you reach the closed gate of the military youth camp, park your car and continue on foot for 5 minutes to the pristine beach of Baie Ternay, invariably deserted and fabulously peaceful.
