The Michelin Guide's review
The Jardin du Roi is a reconstruction of the Jardin du Roy garden, created on the island of Mahé by French settlers in the 18C to acclimatise spice plants from India and Indonesia. This attractive park nurtures rare species of trees, spices, and fruit trees, as well as reptiles and birds. The upper part of the estate commands fine views of the sea and surrounding countryside. Treat yourself to a refreshing break afterwards by sampling the delicious fruit juice made from the garden's produce.
