This large, beautiful garden planted with exotic trees and flowers - including the imposing dragon trees - is the perfect place to climb to the very top of the city, to the Alto da Memória. This obelisk commemorates the arrival of King Pedro IV. Erected on the site of the first castle, it offers a fine view of the city, the bay and Monte Brasil. In winter, before the garden bell rings, it's the ideal place to watch the sun set.
