The Michelin Guide's review
Occupied from the 6C to 13C, Kohunlich is famed for its Templo de los Mascarones, probably dating from the 5C, decorated with six masks depicting the faces of dignitaries, likened to the sun god Kinich Ahau (note the rays in their pupils). The visit also leads to the Acropolis in the Río Bec style, crosses the Plaza de las Estelas, used for large ceremonies, and ends with the complex of the 27 Escalones (27 Steps), a vast residential complex with many patios and intimate spaces.
