This famous Confucian academy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sits enthroned in a superb natural environment. Once you enter the main door of the complex, renovated in the 1970s, you pass from one class to another, discovering a new building, a new perspective, accessed through small low doors or ornate gates. Not to be missed: the Sisadan (1792), an examination room perched on a stone island, and the academy itself, tiered on the hillside (founded in 1574).
