The Michelin Guide's review
Seemingly unchanged by the passing centuries, the 13C Anamur fortress built over a Roman wall, is the perfect example of a typical fortified castle as it might be imagined and drawn by a child. With nearly 40 towers and turrets, crenellated fortifications, a keep, a moat and arrow slits, the castle is an imposing sight. There are fine sea views from the castle rampart walk, whose walls are lapped by the sea.
