The Michelin Guide's review
It's obvious to visitors that St Nicholas is much revered in Amsterdam - and with good reason, since he is the patron saint of sailors. This neo-Baroque church was built in his honour in 1887 by A.C. Bleys and marks the emancipation of Roman Catholicism after years of clandestine worship.
