The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1606, this house was Rembrandt's home from 1639 to 1658 - it was here that the artist painted most of his masterpieces. The interior has been faithfully reconstructed. A spiral staircase leads to the reception room where the artist received his guests, to the Kunst Caemer (art exhibition), where he found inspiration, and to the kitchen and studio. In the museum's new wing, 290 etchings exhibited on rotation demonstrate Rembrandt's exceptional talent.
